Blues, folk, rock, country and Celtic are all musical threads that weave their way through the songs of Canadian blues legend, Matt Minglewood from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia (born in Moncton, N.B.)

Although Matt is best known for his blues & rock music, this solo show is a very intimate, up close and personal, "Acoustic Roots" performance simply called "Songs & Stories", just perfect for the cozy setting of The Capitol Theatre.

Forty plus years of touring, recording and surviving in the music business ensures that his songs portray stories filled with the humor and earthy reality of life on the road. Having recently (June 2008) completed his second tour to Afghanistan to entertain the troops, Matt lived to tell about a “scare” from opposing forces that gives new meaning to his song – Kandahar – as he indeed had “to keep his head down”.

Minglewood’s performances not only showcase great music, but also that wonderful heartfelt “down to earth bearer of good will and good times” hospitality for which the Maritimes is justly famous.

Reserved seating.
